Can you tell us about yourself?

I'm a traveler on the journey to learn to be a better writer.  One day I hope to become published, but I have a long way to go to get there.  I believe in trying my best everyday and working toward a goal.  There aren't many facts that I wish to say about myself because I already pour my heart out in my writing.

Which country do you live in now? What’s your profession? be general, no need to specify your location...

I live in the United States and I'm a freelance artist.

We’re happy that you have been part of Poets Rally as a participant, what has driven you to where you are in this particular community? 

Poets Rally is such a splendid place.  I get a lot of input about my poetry from other participants and I get to explore new work.  I suppose the spirit of the Rally is what drives me to be a part of the community.

How long have you been blogging? Do you think being part of a poetry community contributes to your creative writing?

I believe my first post on my blog was April 2009 so that's a little over two years.  However I didn't take blogging as seriously in the beginning as I do now.  Being part of a poetry community motivates me to write poetry more often. 

Why poetry? Do you write fiction too?

I actually wrote prose before poetry.  I suppose I decided to try poetry to expand the breadth of my writing.  I love writing both, and I couldn't say which one I like better because to me their so different.  I see prose as more of a method of story telling and poetry as raw exposure of thoughts and feelings.

Their posts about writing are so informative and helpful.  I enjoy how they have such a diverse pool of guest bloggers.

A recent favorite of mine.  His witty little rhymes are so silly but entertaining, and often times have an underlying meaning. 

3. Moody Writing: http://moodywriting.blogspot.com/

This blogger is just so original and devoted to what he does.  I particularly like his first chapter series in which he takes the first chapter of a book and dissects it to see what we as writer's can learn.

4.  Out of My Ocean: http://outofmyocean.blogspot.com/

Her use of imagery in her poetry is flat out amazing.  Just go and read, I can't do it justice.

How do you know when a poem is done? your own experiences need to be shared here...

Hmmmm... I've never tried to formulate this into words before.  It's mostly a gut feeling.  I'll read through the poem and if I can see the whole idea I'm trying to convey in the words I've written I know I'm done.

 
How do you decide when a poem is "good"? Do you redo your own poems after they’re posted? it could be poem someone else written...

A good poem reads smoothly. It just rolls off the tongue like a breath of air.  I especially admire poems set to rhyme that also do this.  However, I've been growing more and more fond of free verse.  I've never changed a poem after it was posted, except to correct some sly typo,

Do you think music and poetry are related? Why?

Music is poetry set to a tune.  Well, any music worth listening to that is.
 
What issues are close to your heart? Women’s rights, child abuses, etc.…name one…

The freedom for the pursuit of happiness.

What’s your other hobbies besides writing? Do you have pets? Give us a picture if you own a pet.

Drawing, photography, and philosophy.

Poem 1:

There is some trouble in the near distance

The assault can be seen coming your way

Eyes are searching for the guilty to blame

Feeling the shame, you deny it away

There have been many mistakes on your part

But the things done are not so worrisome

As admitting it to yourself or others

You rather degrade another to scum

When they aren’t enough you use you own self

The fire of self-deceit grows within

And starts feverishly consuming you

Using who you are to cover its skin

It takes your slightest flaws and grows them tall

And they become martyrs of your failure

You hold yourself liable for nothing

Because you can’t help your human nature

As you stoop lower for any excuse

You start to do what you aimed to avoid

The justifications start to become truths

And confidence crumbles and is destroyed

Poem 2: 

I am one single person

Who lives in a city

One of billions on Earth

Making me itty bitty

I don't even make a percent

In the population

I won't be a spot on a map

At any location

What is it to be somebody?

or a celebrity

People love then hate me until

I'm an old memory

The prize of public opinion

Is just unfulfilling

I'd rather be happy of things

Like a person smiling

I would like to change the world

So it's a kinder place

I'm too small, but I'll hold my piece

with a loving embrace

In my little piece of the world

I help my family

And support those I care about

In any catastrophe.
