Dear Maggie,

Thank you.

The Window to The World on Life of A Poet  Questions:
Can you tell us about yourself?
Melancholic Virgo who loves reading, writing, traveling, daydreaming, and also the purple color and chocolate.

Which country do you live in now? What’s your profession? be general, no need to specify your location...
I am from Indonesia. (At the moment) I am a housewife expecting a baby, also a freelance English teacher.

We’re happy that you have been part of Poets Rally as a participant, what has driven you to where you are in this particular community?
I love writing poetry, and I think it is fun and good for me to share my poems and get feedback in a community.

How long have you been blogging? Do you think being part of a poetry community contributes to your creative writing?
Since 2008. But I made a poetry blog (in English) in 2010. Yes, of course. By being a part of a community, I was pushed (in a positive and fun ways) to produce a poetry based on the theme given or a photo prompt. And it is fun and encouraging when I know that other people in the community read my poem and leave a comment. It can boost my confidence and spirit to be more productive and creative

Why poetry? Do you write fiction too?
I used to write fiction, but later on especially when I was a copywriter for official website for Ministry of Tourism, I used to write tourism articles.
I’m now trying again to be productive in creative writing especially poetry.

Why poetry? Maybe because I am kind of introvert who don’t want to clearly/blatantly state my feelings. Through poetry I can express my feelings using symbolic and concise words. And it is challenging to carefully choose the words in each verse to create certain nuance and deliver meaning.

Please share 3 to 5 blog links you enjoy reading most, give 1 or 2 sentences to tell why you love their creative process.

it‘s weekly e-magazine found by also my friend. She shares daily and simple stories yet in a cool ways of writing and contemplation.

Joining in this community (this site) allow me to keep productive in writing and sharing poetries.

The photo prompts from this site used to get me inspired writing poems or short stories.

fashion-blogger. Love to see the way she dress.

How do you know when a poem is done? your own experiences need to be shared here...
Sometimes, it’s just done and I just know it.

How do you decide when a poem is "good"? Do you redo your own poems after they’re posted? it could be poem someone else written...
I love a poem which uses simple words but simply stated and sounds right/fitted in each lines. Though, it evokes reader in certain way. That is why I could only admire one Indonesian poet, namely Sapardi Djoko Damono, who is skillful and playful in playing with words.
Here is one of his poems:
I want (translated by John H. McGlynn).
I want to love you simply, in words not spoken:
tinder to the flame which transforms it to ash
I want to love you simply, in signs not expressed:
clouds to the rain which make them evanescent

How Much I love Thee by Browning is kind of a poem to which I would fall in love.

Do you think music and poetry are related? Why?
It can be. Some lyrics are written concise and poetically. Some poems are transformed into musical forms. Besides, a poem also has its ‘sound’ to create certain effects heard/felt by the reader.

What issues are closed to your heart? Women’s rights, child abuses, etc.…name one…
I prefer love and feelings
What’s your other hobbies besides writing? Do you have pets? Give us a picture if you own a pet.
